Details
Due to the iridescent lavender sheen of its wings, this fancy
butterfly is also called the "African mother of pearl".
The unusual shape of its wings serves the purpose of camouflage.
When the butterfly is perched on a tree branch with its wings
closed, it resembles a dried, dead leaf.
